Company History
Federal Heating and Cooling was established in
October of 1987. Steve Richards, founder, began his business with one other
employee in a shop located near his home. His business has grown steadily by
offering a wide range of quality products and services at prices that are
affordable for everyone.
In 1988 Federal
Heating and Cooling became the first contractor in this area to offer
Geo
Thermal as and alternative to conventional heating and cooling systems, and now
is the largest Geo Thermal dealer in eastern Ohio.
In 1994 Federal
Heating and Cooling became an Authorized Dealer for
Trane Products. Trane offers a full range of top of the line products
for residential and commercial needs.
In 1996 Mike Cohagen joined Federal Heating and Cooling and spearheaded the start up of the Duct Cleaning and
Indoor Air
Quality Division. Customers desired to have their ductwork professionally
cleaned at the time of furnace upgrades. We are still the only heating company
in this area offering this service.
In 2001 Federal added gas fireplaces and wood stoves to our
product lines with operational displays in our 1200 square ft. showroom. We also
have working displays of Trane Furnaces, heat pumps and accessories.
We also added a
new warehouse for stocking furnaces and air conditioners so the needs of our
customers could be met more quickly. We now have a total of 7000 square ft. of
space.
Federal Heating and Cooling now has 13 employees that are
experts who will design, engineer, and install systems to match your residential
and commercial needs. Federal strives to keep informed about the latest product
advances and technology of the heating and cooling market, and continue to offer
the highest standard of service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Steve credits Federals success to putting the
customer first. Putting the customer first has helped the business grow, and
currently serves 600 home, office, and church customers annually. Steve has
learned that customer referrals are a company’s greatest asset.
